"I know how difficult it is to choose a course after standard 12. Confused between which course to pick, which college to go, and above all if you'll meet the cut-offs or not. I don't believe in magic or stars, but I do believe in evaluating which decisions of your past have been responsible to shape your present and then being grateful to all those who helped you to take good decisions. When I look back to find out how I ended up opting Economics Hons., the first name that crosses my mind is Saurabh Nanda. I have been acquainted with him since 2018. He was my teacher for Verbal Ability and Critical Reasoning when I was preparing for a competitive exam at Chandigarh. Being a counsellor by profession, apart from our regular lectures, he used to counsel our batch on various aspects. Hailing from Abohar, a small town, I was new to a lot of different streams, and had no clue on how to proceed. I had numerous one-on-one interactions with him to streamline my thought process. I remember how I used to ring him up during any application process and take his advice on how to go about, which courses to fill, what to write in bio, etc. These questions do sound really simple, but when you are sailing in a new boat, you feel really burdened. He just asked whether I like Economics or not, to which I replied that I love Economics. He said, "Economics is a great course, go for it! Believe in yourself." Looking at the path I have travelled, that particular decision to opt for Economics has given a beautiful trajectory to my life. Till date I consult him on various occasions.
